Our Community
The Feline Guardians Community
The hope of Feline Guardians is to end the torture of cats in China, where 90% of abuse occurs. We also create awareness worldwide to prevent abuse from spreading.
The collective power of our community can make a difference. Whether you’re hosting events or supporting the mission on social media, every effort counts. We are grateful to those who spread the message – because together we can help those who need it the most.
If you wish to participate in the Feline Guardians community, we kindly ask you respect our guidelines. These guidelines are in place to ensure that our focus remain on the victims and the cause, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment both on and offline.
We ask that you do not represent Feline Guardians in any official capacity if you are not a registered volunteer. We must be careful due to liability, though we are grateful for those who support the mission to end feline abuse.
Community Efforts
Members engage in efforts such as raising awareness online and planning local events. Community members also organize public vigils and memorials to honor the victims, and ensure the safety of both cats and people by responsibly reporting instances of online animal cruelty. This work requires the cooperation and dedication of many.
Feline Guardians is for All
Even though Feline Guardians is now a registered organization, our policy is that it will remain open for all. Anyone in the world who supports the core mission and acts legally is a true part of the cause. If you have any interest in volunteering or supporting please reach out. We are excited to hear from you!
Community Structure
Feline Guardians has a full time staff dedicated to managing the organization and its core campaigns. Our staff also works alongside “National Teams”, which represent smaller teams of volunteers who focus on events and programs that are specific to the country in which they live.
Each formally recognized National Team is led by one of our official representatives responsible for coordinating local efforts and managing incoming requests.
If you are interested in joining or supporting a team in your country, please contact us for more information. Please note that all official national representatives must be registered volunteers with Feline Guardians.

How You Can Help
There are a variety of ways you can help. In addition to joining the community, you can also visit the Take Action page to learn about what you can do.
Please remember that Feline Guardians’ mission is to end cat torture. Therefore, all our activities on and offline must be centered on cats. We respect and deeply support all animal welfare causes, but we must ensure that the core mission always remains focused on ending feline torture where need is greatest and government support is lowest.
Investigations
Please note that Feline Guardians community members do not go “undercover” to investigate abuse outside of China. Law enforcement professionals have advised against such actions by non-professionals, as they can often be counterproductive. In many cases, these efforts hinder the identification and prosecution of abusers; they have also caused abusers to torture more often or with more violence. While there may be isolated instances of success, the majority of such actions can complicate investigations and make the situation worse. You can read more about our investigation process here.

FAQ for Community Members
Get Involved
At Feline Guardians, we have three distinct levels of involvement. Each level plays a critical role in advancing our mission, and we welcome everyone to join in however they can.
Community members are individuals who stand behind our cause, whether by spreading awareness, participating in events, or simply supporting us through social media. You are the voice that amplifies this mission. Community members do not have to register, but we do ask they follow guidelines that are carefully designed with consultation from our legal team to protect the community, the organization, the core mission, and the victims.
Community members can arrange events and post on social media, provided they follow the guidelines we’ve made to help community members. Get more information about our brand here.
At this time, we kindly ask community members not to represent Feline Guardians in an official capacity, such as speaking the media, politicians, or government agencies. We also ask members follow the laws of their home country as well as the country where a social media platform is headquartered. Please refrain from using threatening or racist language, doxxing, harassment, and other unethical behaviors. Check our guidelines for more information.
Registered volunteers take on more concrete roles, working directly on projects and assisting with tasks that require a higher level of responsibility and commitment. Due to a high level of applications we have already received, we are not seeking any additional registered volunteers at this time. However, we encourage you to keep checking back for when we open registration up again. We appreciate your interest.
Our dedicated employees work full-time to implement and manage the strategies and operations that bring our mission to life. We are currently not hiring, but please check back for open positions.
